Today it was a wonderful sight! Because of the last few days rain our first potatoe plants have shown their heads. Loveley:) What sad people we must be to get so excited about a few spuds!! Pictures to follow

What we have done so far in May

Some more pictures - we have our neighbours in the next field, my spuds planted in straight lines and a general view of it all.

Poly tunnels

We decided to put the tomatoes and peppers under tunnels to protect them from the cold as it still gets a bit chilly here at night.

Planting secret spuds!

Well the first veggies went in today! everyone here in Belcaire says its too early to plant potatoes so I got up early today (Sunday) and dug a neat trench about 6 inches deep and planted 15 Amandine potatoes.

We are still getting overnight temperatures of below freezing so to protect from frost I covered them with straw and black plastic. I'll go back a week later and make slits in the plastic to let them grow through. If anyone asks what they are I will say "it's a secret!"
